Every Nikon DSLR Cameras use optical low pass filter (OLPF) in front of the sensor for a little blurry picture at the level of the pixel to reduce the occurrence of false colour and moiré that can arise when firing patterns of repetitive and/or fine. For most photographers, D800 provides balanced between sharpness and effectively prevented moiré and false color, ideal to shoot using all file formats. D800E is a special camera which removes the "effect" of the OLPF, which resulted in getting a bit of sharpness and resolution and is recommended for professional studio and still alive but brings the possibility of augmenting the moiré and false colors will appear
